Babu Owino issues update on his missing brother-in-law
Embakasi East Member of Parliament (MP) Paul Ongili, widely known as Babu Owino, has issued an update regarding his brother-in-law, Geoffrey Anjike, who had gone missing.
In an official statement issued on Friday, February 19, 2026, through his official social media pages, Babu said his brother-in-law was released early this morning.
According to the youthful lawmaker, Anjike was dropped off in Machakos County after being set free.
“My brother-in-law was released at 4am and dropped off in Machakos,” Babu Owino said.
The lawmaker did not disclose details about the circumstances surrounding the disappearance, but his update reassured family, friends, and supporters of his safety.

Gone missing
This comes a day after the lawmaker disclosed that Anjike had gone missing.
Speaking via a Facebook video on Thursday, February 19, 2026, Babu said that his relative had earlier informed him that he had been arrested and was being taken to the Nairobi Area Police Headquarters.
In the emotional clip, Babu appeared concerned and restless as he narrated the sequence of events that led to the disappearance.
“Ladies and gentlemen, today my brother-in-law, Geoffrey Anjike, called and told me that he was arrested by six DCI officers and that he was being brought here to the Nairobi Area Police Hqs. I am here at the moment, and I have not found him,” Babu said.

He added that his brother-in-law’s phone is currently switched off, raising anxiety among family members who have been trying to trace him.
According to Babu, Anjike had earlier complained about intimidation.
“Yesterday, my brother-in-law told me that, and right now his phone is off. He told me that one Raymond Omollo has been intimidating him, and today, goons have been sent to intimidate him,” he claimed in the video.
The lawmaker urged relevant authorities to clarify Anjike’s whereabouts, saying the family is deeply worried about his safety.
