Tom Daktari gifts Sammy Kioko Ksh210K and Prado to boost his Mavoko MP campaign

Comedian Sammy Kioko’s bid for the Mavoko parliamentary seat has received a major financial and logistical boost after fellow comedian Tom Daktari gifted him Ksh210,000 and a Prado to support his 2027 campaign.
The gesture came on Friday, September 11, 2026, during the lavish event Kioko had organised to officially unveil his candidature for the Mavoko MP seat, with several celebrities and close friends turning up to back his entry into politics.
Tom said he had deliberately settled on Ksh210,000 as his contribution because the amount carried a personal meaning, taking him back to the early days of his friendship with Kioko.
“And I have started the donations with 210,000. And the main reason why I chose that specific amount is that I remember way back the first amount of money Sammy sent me for fare was Ksh210,” Tom said.
The comedian explained that he had multiplied the figure as a way of remembering the small but meaningful gesture Kioko had shown him years earlier, turning what might have appeared to be an ordinary contribution into a personal tribute to their friendship.
“I have multiplied that to remember that, and God will continue blessing us,” Tom said.
He expressed hope that Kioko would receive the contribution in the spirit in which it was given as the comedian embarks on the new political journey.
“And let him receive that, and we will move on and later on we will be better,” Tom said.
Beyond the cash contribution, Tom also revealed that he had gifted Kioko a Prado to support his campaign activities as he prepares to traverse Mavoko and sell his political agenda to voters ahead of the 2027 General Election.
“And I have also gifted him the car to support him,” Tom said.
The contribution came as the candidature unveiling event also turned into a fundraising occasion, with several of Kioko’s friends, fellow entertainers and associates making sizeable contributions towards his political ambitions.
Among those who contributed was Kioko’s best friend, Motilink James, who gifted him Ksh350,000 during the event.
The sizeable contribution added to the financial support that was being extended to the comedian as he formally transitioned from entertainment into elective politics.
Terence Creative also made a major contribution, giving Kioko Ksh500,000 towards his campaign as he seeks to clinch the Mavoko parliamentary seat in 2027.
Kifalme Entertainment further contributed Ksh100,000, adding to the growing pool of funds raised during the candidature unveiling.
The contributions came as Kioko formally declared his intention to vie for the Mavoko MP seat, telling those gathered that he had made the decision after listening to and walking alongside the people he hopes to represent.
“On this day, September 11, 2026, I stand before you with a lot of humility, gratitude and a big sense of responsibility,” Kioko said during the unveiling.
He said he believed he was now ready to take the next step, before formally announcing his candidature.
“I have listened, I have walked with you and I am ready to take the next step. I, Sammy Kioko, officially declare my candidature for the Member of Parliament, Mavoko Constituency,” he said.
Kioko also unveiled “Mbele Pazuri” as his campaign slogan as he launched his bid before friends, family, celebrities and members of the community.
The comedian further thanked those who attended the event, acknowledging the support he had received from people close to him and the wider community.
“I want to thank you all for coming as friends, family, community. I thank you all,” he said.
