Babu Owino says brother-in-law is missing

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has said his brother-in-law, Geoffrey Anjike, has gone missing.
Speaking via a Facebook video on Thursday, February 19, 2026, Babu said that his relative had earlier informed him that he had been arrested and was being taken to the Nairobi Area Police Headquarters.
In the emotional clip, Babu appeared concerned and restless as he narrated the sequence of events that led to the disappearance.

Geoffrey Anjike missing
“Ladies and gentlemen, today my brother-in-law, Geoffrey Anjike, called and told me that he was arrested by six DCI officers and that he was being brought here to the Nairobi Area Police Hqs. I am here at the moment, and I have not found him,” Babu said.
He added that his brother-in-law’s phone is currently switched off, raising anxiety among family members who have been trying to trace him.
According to Babu, Anjike had earlier complained about alleged intimidation.
“Yesterday, my brother-in-law told me that, and right now his phone is off. He told me that one Raymond Omollo has been intimidating him, and today, goons have been sent to intimidate him,” he claimed in the video.

The lawmaker urged relevant authorities to clarify Anjike’s whereabouts, saying the family is deeply worried about his safety.
Family seeks answers urgently
Friends and supporters quickly filled the video’s comment section, expressing concern and calling for transparency.
Many urged security agencies to communicate clearly whenever someone is arrested to avoid panic and speculation among relatives.
The incident comes just days after heightened public attention on political gatherings across the country.
Last weekend, a rally in Kitengela turned chaotic, leaving one person dead from gunshot wounds.

However, Babu’s latest appeal focused primarily on the safety of his family member rather than broader political matters.
As of the time of publishing, there was no official statement confirming Anjike’s arrest or whereabouts. Family members say they remain hopeful that he will be located safe and unharmed.
The situation continues to unfold as loved ones await answers.
