Kenya Power lists areas to experience outages on Sunday, September 13

Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions in parts of Nairobi, Machakos, Kakamega and Bungoma counties on Sunday, September 13, 2026.

The utility company said the outages will facilitate network maintenance and apologised for any inconvenience that may occur during the operations.

“Good Evening. The listed areas will be under planned power maintenance tomorrow (13.09 2026). The interruption is part of network maintenance. We regret any inconvenience that may occur during the operations. To access the latest schedule, check under the most recent date,” Kenya Power said on Saturday, September 12, 2026.

Nairobi County

In Nairobi County, parts of Westlands will experience a power interruption from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. on Sunday. The affected areas are Brookside Groove, Grivellia Groove, School Lane, Matundu Lane, Muguga Green, Brookside Drive and adjacent customers.

Machakos County

In Machakos County, parts of Mombasa Road will be without power from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The affected areas include Alpharama, Old Mombasa Road, Petrocity, Sabaki Est, Greatwall Gardens, Tamarind, London Distillers, Lifecare, Saphirre Business Park and Signature Mall.

Other areas listed are Ngwata, Kathangaita, KPLC Offices Mlolonga, Senior Staff, Kongoni, Crystal Rivers, Apex RMD, Apex TMD, Makadara, Mavoko Boys, KMC and adjacent customers.

Kakamega County

In Kakamega County, areas around West Kenya Sugar will experience a power interruption from 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The affected areas include Chegulo, Mahima, Kulumbeni, Makhukhuni, Musaga Mkt, Chekata, Malava Mkt, Samtsi, Khalenda and West Kenya Sugar.

Kenya Power also listed Kambiri Mkt, Power Sport, Lukume Mkt and Shihome among the affected areas. Adjacent customers in the listed locations will also experience the interruption.

Bungoma County

In Bungoma County, areas around Webuye Jaggery and Kapsokwony will experience an interruption from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The affected areas include Munyikana, Mwalim House Section of Dinah, United Millers, Molo, Santa Barbara, Malaha, Sirisia and Bunjosi.

Other areas listed are Webuye Jaggery, Noah Wekesa, Kapsokwony, Maeni, Makhese, Bituyu, Mkulima, Mwangale, Matulo, Milo, Ngwele, Makhele, Mang and adjacent customers. Kenya Power said the interruption is part of planned network maintenance and regretted any inconvenience caused during the operations.
