Coaches behind the first clash
Ahead of the opening fixture, Eric Omondi unveiled a coaching duo to lead the Manchester United fans’ team, bringing both local experience and international flair into the setup.
Among those appointed was former Gor Mahia assistant coach Zedekiah “Zico” Otieno, who brought his tactical experience to the squad. He was joined by a foreign coach whose involvement added an international touch to the fan-driven football spectacle.
The coaching setup was widely seen as a key factor in Manchester United fans’ narrow 3-2 victory over their Arsenal counterparts.

The initial showdown, held at Nyayo Stadium on Sunday, June 14, 2026, attracted large crowds and online engagement as supporters of both English Premier League giants turned up to represent their sides in a unique fan-versus-fan format.
Showdown rematch
With the rematch now confirmed, anticipation is building once again as both sides prepare for another round of rivalry and entertainment.
Manchester United fans will be looking to repeat their winning formula under the same coaching setup, while Arsenal supporters will be aiming to correct their mistakes and level the score.
Whether Arsenal fans can overturn their previous defeat or Manchester United supporters will extend their dominance remains to be seen when the two sides meet again on August 9.
