Anti-Arsenal celebration

This announcement comes days after Manchester United supporter Eric Omondi led a massive public celebration on Monday, June 1, 2026, at the National Archives in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD) after Arsenal’s defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League final.

What started as light banter quickly escalated into a full street gathering as rival fans turned up in large numbers to mock Arsenal’s European heartbreak.

By afternoon, the usually busy Archives had transformed into a loud sea of colour and energy. Eric arrived with a branded “Champions of Europe” truck, a raised stage, powerful speakers, and nonstop chants aimed at Arsenal supporters.

Fans of Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City, and other clubs joined in, turning the event into one of the biggest football banter gatherings seen in Nairobi in recent times.

Traffic in the CBD slowed as the crowd grew. People danced, sang, and openly mocked Arsenal’s final loss, which saw PSG retain the Champions League title.

It was a moment many described as a dose of your own medicine.

Pro-Arsenal celebration

On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, thousands of Arsenal fans in Kenya thronged Nairobi CBD for an eagerly-awaited English Premier League trophy parade at the National Archives, bringing normal activities to a halt.

Donning the Gunners’ famous home shirts, the Arsenal faithful painted Moi Avenue red, singing and dancing after Mikel Arteta broke a 22-year-old Premier League title winless jinx at the Emirates recently.

However, it is not clearly established whether the trophy on display was the one lifted by Martin Odegaard at Selhurst Park on Sunday, May 24, 2026 or a replica.
