We want Raila to allow Mutahi Kagwe to continue with same job – Uhuru

President Uhuru Kenyatta has asked Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Alliance presidential candidate Raila Odinga to allow Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe to retain his position should he ascend to power on August 9th.

Speaking during his Mt. Kenya tour where he travelled to inspect various government projects, Uhuru lauded Kagwe for his excellent job in the docket regardless of a string of challenges and a pandemic.

“I want to thank Mutahi Kagwe for the short while he has been the Health CS, he has worked hard and we want Raila Odinga to allow him to continue with the same job,” Uhuru stated.

Mutahi took over MoH in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic in February 2020.

He was handed over the Ministry docket by then outgoing CS Sicily Kariuki.

Prior to his appointment, he served as a board member of the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Commission (EPRA).

Kagwe had served in government as the first Senator of Nyeri County after winning in 2013.
