Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Mohammed has called on fans to turn up in large numbers for the upcoming FIFA Series Women tournament set to kick off this Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Nyayo National Stadium.

In a rallying message seeking support for Kenya’s Harambee Starlets ahead of the tournament via his social media pages on Thursday, April 9, 2026, Mohammed emphasised the significance of the event, noting that it goes beyond just football and presents Kenya with a unique opportunity to shine on the global stage.

“This Saturday, all roads lead to Nyayo National Stadium as the FIFA Series Women kicks off in Nairobi!” he stated.

Mohammed pointed out the broader impact of the tournament, highlighting its role in promoting the country’s image internationally while celebrating the growth of women’s football.

“This is more than football. It is Kenya on the global stage, showcasing our talent, our hospitality, and our capacity to host world-class events. It is a celebration of women’s football and a chance to unite as one nation behind the beautiful game,” he added.

The FKF boss further urged supporters to show up in full force and create an electrifying atmosphere that will inspire the players and leave a lasting impression on visiting teams and officials.

“Let’s turn up in numbers, fill the stands, and let your voices be heard. Let’s make this a tournament to remember,” he said.

The FIFA Series Women’s tournament is expected to bring together teams from different parts of the world, featuring Malawi, Australia, India, and hosts Kenya, offering Kenyan fans a rare opportunity to witness high-level international women’s football on home soil.

Opening fixtures

The tournament will kick off with two matches lined up at Nyayo Stadium, with several top-rated Europe-based players set to light up Nairobi.

Harambee Starlets will face India at 6:00 pm in the day’s headline fixture, while Australia will take on Malawi earlier at 2:00 pm at the same venue.

Finals day

The tournament will conclude on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, with the third-place playoff set to be played at 2.00 pm, followed by the final at 6.00 pm to determine the inaugural FIFA Women’s Series champion.

The tournament forms part of the global FIFA Series initiative aimed at strengthening international competition and giving national teams valuable match experience. 

Ahead of the tournament, fans have been urged to secure their seats early. Prices have been set to cater to a wide audience, with ordinary tickets going for Ksh300, VIP tickets at Ksh1,000, and VVIP access priced at Ksh5,000.
