Ida Odinga on Tuesday night stepped out to attend the Legacy Gala Dinner held during the ongoing Piny Luo Festival, an event dedicated to celebrating the life and legacy of her late husband, former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga.
The gala dinner brought together political leaders, cultural elders, professionals and members of the Luo community from different parts of the country and the diaspora. The gathering focused on unity, cultural pride and reflection on Raila Odinga’s long public service and contribution to Kenya’s political history.
Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga shared details of the event in a post on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, noting that the dinner was held in the spirit of strengthening unity within the Luo community while honouring Raila Odinga’s legacy.
She acknowledged Ida Odinga’s presence at the event, describing it as a significant moment for the festival.
“An extraordinary Legacy Gala Dinner at the Piny Luo Festival, dedicated to the unity of the Luo Community and the legacy of Baba Raila Amolo Odinga. Thank you, Min Piny Dr Ida Odinga, for attending,” Wanga stated.
