Justina Wamae calls out churches for hosting old order politicians

Wajackoyah’s running mate in the 2022 presidential elections, Justina Wamae has called out churches for hosting old order politicians.

Through a post on X on Monday, January 26, 2026, Wamae questioned the intentions of the churches and insinuated that she did not understand whether it is because of the money that they bring with them.

In her post, the former running mate described this as shenanigans.

“Another thing, churches and your followers, must you host these old order mindset politicians, ama form ni PESA! Shenanigans..”

This was a second post among her early morning posts, where she had minutes earlier posted about former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

“Them: If you are not in Gachagua’s camp, you are definitely in Ruto’s and are getting paid. Me: Na mlipokuwa kwa Ruto mkimuita kingpin wa WaKikuyu mkilipwa, nani alikuwa anawauliza? Akili duni! Endeni mkabebewe akili kuleeeee,” she wrote.

Loosely translating to “Them: If you are not in Gachagua’s camp, you are definitely in Ruto’s and are getting paid. Me: And when you were with Ruto, calling him the Kikuyu kingpin while getting paid, who was questioning you then? Shallow minds! Go elsewhere and have your brains carried for you (be manipulated) over there…”

Gachagua’s church service in Othaya

This came barely a day after former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was attacked and teargassed in a church he was attending in Othaya.

The former DP blamed President William Ruto for the attack, stating that, among other things, his vehicle was torched and there was the presence of live bullets.

“William Ruto has sent a killer squad to kill us inside Witima ACK Church, Othaya. We are marooned in church, being attacked with live bullets and tear gas, and they torched my vehicles. We ask Kenyans to pray for us to come out alive,” he said.

Unidentified individuals wearing military uniforms and face coverings were seen outside the church amidst clouds of smoke.
