Stoopid Boy’s manager reveals story behind Stoopid’s viral crying video

The late artiste Stoopid Boy’s manager and friend, Donga, has revealed what he says happened shortly before a video of the musician crying went viral.

In an interview on Friday, September 11, 2026, Donga said the emotional moment happened during a late-night content shoot after the two encountered Stoopid Boy’s brother’s child in the neighbourhood.

“We met mtoto wa brother yake usiku hajavaa sweater na ni baridi. Akaniambia nishoot content. Akianza kupiga freestyle, akilia,” Donga said.

According to Donga, Stoopid Boy asked him to record content after seeing the child without a sweater on a cold night.

Donga explains viral crying video

Donga said the incident happened at around 9:00 pm after the two had spent much of the day together creating content.

“The last tulikuwa nae ilikuwa saa tatu usiku,” he said, adding that they had been shooting content before meeting the child.

He said Stoopid Boy then began freestyling while crying before the two went their separate ways.

Donga said he did not know of any single incident that caused the musician to break down, noting that Stoopid Boy often kept his feelings to himself.

Manager speaks on Stoopid Boy’s struggles

Donga also spoke about some of the challenges he believed Stoopid Boy was facing before his death.

He pointed to the musician’s struggles after returning from rehabilitation, saying the artist had hoped to receive support to start a business and continue his music career.

According to Donga, Stoopid Boy had agreed to go to rehabilitation after being promised that his music would be released and that he would receive money to start a business.

“He said he was willing to go to rehab and, if you could hold him, he would leave these other activities. But with one reason — if you release his song and open a business for him,” Donga said.

Donga also claimed that Stoopid Boy had been affected by what he described as failed promises after his rehabilitation.
