I love you, Kenya: IShowSpeed emotional as Nairobi breaks his Africa tour record

American streamer IShowSpeed ended his first day in Kenya on a deeply emotional note after a whirlwind livestream that shut down parts of Nairobi and smashed his Africa tour subscriber record.
What began as a highly anticipated stream on Sunday, January 11, 2026, quickly turned into a full-blown spectacle, with massive crowds pouring into the streets to catch a glimpse of the YouTube star.
From noon to late evening, Speed took fans on a high-energy rollercoaster that blended culture, sport, food and wildlife, all streamed live to millions across the world.
The day kicked off with a visit to a Nairobi school, where screaming students in Upperhill High School welcomed him like a pop star.
He later linked up with world javelin champion Julius Yego, sharing laughs and attempting throws that quickly went viral.
The tour also included meet-ups with popular Kenyan creators, among them Gen-Z Goliath, whose towering physique and oversized shoes left Speed visibly stunned.
Food was another major highlight. Speed sampled local dishes, openly declaring his love for Kenyan flavours after trying ugali, nyama choma and other staples.
Pulling massive crowds
The stream later moved to Nairobi National Park, a moment that left Speed in disbelief. Watching rhinos and lions with the city skyline in the background, he repeatedly marvelled at the uniqueness of having a national park within a capital city.
“I can’t lie, bro, Kenya looks good. Kenya is lit,” he said during the stream.
As the day progressed, Speed headed to the KICC area before boarding a helicopter for an aerial tour of Nairobi.
From above, he admired the city’s landscape, pointing out landmarks including the Talanta Stadium, praising its design and scale. Speaking mid-air, he expressed amazement at Kenya’s beauty and organisation.
The emotional peak came as Speed wrapped up the stream. Overcome with excitement, he revealed that Kenya had delivered his biggest single-country subscriber surge ever during his Africa tour.
“Bro, we gained 360,000 subs in one stream. I have never gained this much in any country ever,” he said, shouting over the roaring chat.
He confirmed that the milestone pushed him to 48 million subscribers, prompting an outpouring of gratitude.
“Everybody, Kenya, everybody in the chat, I love y’all so much. Kenya, I will never forget y’all. Kenya is number one right now,” he added.
Speed confirmed that his Kenya tour is far from over, revealing that he will continue streaming across the country, with the next session expected on Monday, January 12, 2025.
