Muthoni Babytop jets back to Kenya after weeks in US, fans celebrate her return

Popular Kameme FM host Muthoni Wa Kirumba, popularly known as Babytop, has returned to Kenya after spending several weeks in the USA, where she had been sharing videos and posts documenting her experiences as she explored and spent time in various cities.
In a video shared on her Facebook page on Monday, August 31, 2026, Muthoni revealed that she had arrived at the airport and shared a clip showing her alongside family members and friends at the receiving bay.
She was received by her fans, who also presented her with a bouquet and warmly wished her well following her return to the country.
In photos shared online, she is seen embracing each of the fans and family members who had turned up to receive her before posing for various photos with them.
She appeared visibly happy and, in her post, thanked God for granting her a warm and memorable stay in the Donald Trump-led nation.
“My land in Kenya,” she wrote, accompanying the message with love emojis.
Her return came only hours after she had revealed details of her final flight from the United States, which left her on a layover in Doha at 18:45 as she made her journey back to Kenya.
According to the Facebook story she shared, the flight was scheduled to arrive in Nairobi at 23:50, giving her followers a glimpse into the final leg of her lengthy journey home.
She also shared a video from aboard the aircraft, posting a view through the plane window in which a beautiful city illuminated by countless glowing lights could be seen stretching across the background.
Previous act of generosity
Muthoni’s return to Kenya comes days after she was at the centre of a remarkable act of generosity that transformed the life of a 93-year-old Gikomba trader whose business had been reduced to ashes by a devastating fire.
Babytop subsequently rallied Kenyans to come to the elderly trader’s aid, inviting her to Kameme FM on Thursday, July 2, 2026, where she shared the painful account of how the fire had upended her life.
The appeal prompted an overwhelming response from well-wishers, with Kenyans sending thousands of shillings through a Paybill account opened in her name as they sought to restore some of what she had lost.
The fundraiser took an even more extraordinary turn during the live programme when Kiambu gubernatorial aspirant John Mwaura announced that he would donate a parcel of land worth Ksh4 million to the elderly woman.
Mwaura said he had been moved by her story and wanted to give her a more secure future, promising to facilitate the transfer of the property and ensure that the title deed was placed in her name.
The gesture prompted Babytop to announce that efforts would then be made to raise additional funds to construct a house for the elderly woman, turning what had begun as an appeal for assistance into a broader effort to give her a fresh start.
Babytop later thanked Kenyans for rallying behind the elderly trader, crediting their prayers, financial contributions and in-kind support with helping restore hope to a woman who had lost almost everything in the fire.
“With that, we will now look for money to build a house for her. Wow, that is so great,” the presenter responded.
