I can never be a priest: Muhoozi says after Patience Museveni is consecrated as bishop

Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has explained why he believes he can never become a priest.
Muhoozi made the light-hearted remark on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, while congratulating his younger sister, Patience Kokundeka Museveni Rwabwogo, following her consecration as a bishop.
“I can NEVER be a priest. I love the other things of women too much,” Muhoozi wrote.
Despite his humorous comment, Muhoozi celebrated his sister’s new role in the church, describing her consecration as well deserved.
He also said Patience shares several attributes with him and expressed his pride in her achievement.
“I congratulate my baby sister on her well-deserved consecration as a bishop. Patience shares a lot of attributes with me,” he said.
Additionally, Muhoozi went on to pray for God’s blessings upon his sister and her children, while promising to continue supporting and protecting her.
“May our God, Jesus Christ, bless her and her children. She will always be protected under me,” Muhoozi added.
Patience consecrated as bishop
Patience was consecrated as an Episcopal Bishop of Covenant Nations Church in Uganda and beyond on Sunday, August 23, 2026, during celebrations marking 20 years of the ministry.
The consecration ceremony was held at Covenant Hill in Maya and was led by Bishop Dr LaDonna Osborn, alongside co-consecrators Archbishop Moses Odongo and Bishop Joshua Lwere.
Patience has been involved in Christian ministry for two decades and founded Covenant Nations Church as a small house fellowship before it grew into a larger ministry.
Her consecration marked a major milestone in her religious journey and attracted members of her family, government officials and Christian leaders.
President Yoweri Museveni and First Lady Janet Museveni were among those who attended the ceremony.
Museveni congratulated his daughter on her consecration and spoke about her dedication to Christian ministry.
“Today, Maama and I were very happy to witness the consecration of our daughter, Patience, as a Bishop of Covenant Nations Churches in Uganda after 20 years of ministry,” Museveni said.
“I also thank God for making Patience a bishop.”
The milestone also marked a significant moment for Patience’s family, with Muhoozi joining other relatives in celebrating her new role as a bishop.
