Lydia Wanjiru opens up on weight gain after cosmetic surgery

Lydia Wanjiru has opened up about gaining weight after undergoing cosmetic surgery, revealing that she has moved from 78kg to 84kg since her second surgery.
The content creator said she is now focused on getting back to her preferred weight of 75kg. She also said she plans to document her progress and share weekly updates as she works towards her goal.
“Nimenona tena but kidogo tu and I’m about to get back to my ideal weight,” Lydia Wanjiru said on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
Lydia said she wants to be open about her weight journey instead of creating the impression that maintaining a certain body shape happens without effort. She explained that she will share the changes, lifestyle adjustments and progress along the way.
“No fake ‘I just woke up like this’ stories. We’re documenting the journey, the progress, the lifestyle changes and everything in between,” Lydia said.
Tracking her weight journey
Lydia said her weight increased by 6kg after her second surgery, moving from 78kg to 84kg. She explained that she has now decided to be intentional about losing the extra weight and returning to what she considers her happy weight.
“Since my second surgery, I’ve gone from 78 kg to 84kgs and I’m choosing to be intentional about getting back to my happy weight of 75 kg,” Lydia said.
She also pointed out the area around her stomach as one of the parts she wants to work on during the journey. Lydia said she plans to give regular updates so that people can follow her progress.
“You see my tummy; this is what I am trying to get rid of. I will be giving you guys a weekly update on how I look,” Lydia said.
In March 2026, Lydia opened up about the experience that led her to undergo a BBL. She said the procedure had been on her bucket list for a long time and that international celebrities influenced her decision.
“I have always wanted a BBL, like five years ago when these Hollywood or these international stars started coming out and saying, ‘You know I’ve done this, I’ve done this,’” Lydia said.
