Who is Abbie Zuena? Meet the silent force quietly powering Linda Mwananchi

Abigael Gikonyo, popularly known as Abbie Zuena, has steadily become a recognisable face in Kenya’s emerging political movement, Linda Mwananchi.
Unlike many political figures who have spent years in party politics, Abbie Zuena’s journey into the political spotlight has come after years spent in finance, communications and real estate.
Her growing prominence has been fuelled by her vocal participation in Linda Mwananchi activities and her support for Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna.
But who exactly is Abbie Zuena, and what was she doing before becoming a familiar face in Kenya’s political conversations?
From finance to real estate
Abbie Zuena holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), where she studied between 2011 and 2015.
Her professional career began while she was still building her academic and professional credentials.
Between March 2013 and March 2015, she worked at Pembroke House School, where she supported the accounts office as well as marketing and public relations activities.
She later moved into public policy, working as a policy consultant for the County Government of Nakuru between May 2015 and July 2017.
In that role, she consulted on policies targeting young people under the administration of then Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua.
Her career later shifted towards real estate.
Abbie Zuena joined Finsco Africa in August 2019 and served as Director of Customer Service until May 2025. Her responsibilities included customer-service policy, client databases, communications, retention strategies and client experience.
She has since risen to become CEO of Center Piece Africa, a Nairobi-based real estate company offering property investment advisory, diaspora investment support, interior architectural services, post-sale support and project-management consultancy.
Her experience has also taken her into investment forums, including the 2024 UK-Kenya Trade Mission, where she discussed Kenya’s housing demand, land availability and the challenges facing property developers.
How politics changed her public profile
Abbie Zuena’s political activism became more visible in 2026 when she joined the Linda Mwananchi movement.
She emerged as a prominent participant during the movement’s activities, including its political engagements in Nakuru.
Her social media platforms have increasingly become spaces where she comments on governance, youth participation and the country’s political direction.
She has also openly defended Sifuna and discussed the possibility of his presidential bid, marking a significant shift from her earlier professional focus on business and real estate.
Her growing political profile has not been limited to social media.

In June 2026, she rejected claims linking Linda Mwananchi to the PRM party, insisting on the movement’s independence; she maintained that Linda Mwananchi had its own agenda rather than being an extension of another political party.
More recently, her political involvement has put her directly in the spotlight during rallies.
On September 11, 2026, at the Linda Mwananchi gathering at Jacaranda in Kayole, Abbie Zuena spoke about the movement’s political plans and its engagement with leaders including Sifuna, Babu Owino and James Orengo. She also said Linda Mwananchi would establish a political party and urged its supporters to unite under one political outfit.
Why Abbie Zuena is worth watching
Abbie Zuena’s rise presents an interesting shift in Kenya’s political landscape.
Her background is not rooted solely in party structures. She brings experience in finance, public policy, communications and real estate into a movement increasingly seeking to attract young Kenyans.

From working in accounts and public relations to advising a county government on youth policies, leading customer relations in real estate and eventually heading a property company, Abbie Zuena has built a career outside elective politics.
Now, her growing involvement in Linda Mwananchi is placing her in a very different arena.
As Kenya moves towards the 2027 General Election, Abbie Zuena’s evolution from a real estate executive to an increasingly visible political activist will be worth watching, particularly as Linda Mwananchi continues to define its political identity and determine the role it wants to play in the country’s next electoral contest.
