Arsenal honours diehard fan Useful Idioty with special package

Kenyan digital content creator and football fanatic Stephen Otieno, popularly known as Useful Idioty, has received a special recognition package from his beloved Arsenal and the club’s official airline partner, Emirates.
The self-proclaimed Arsenal General shared the news on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, posting a photo of the package alongside a message expressing his gratitude to the Premier League club.
“From London to Nairobi. A special recognition package from my club, Arsenal, and my airline of choice, Emirates, has landed!” he wrote.
Useful Idioty added that he had been recognised by the club, describing the gesture as a special moment for a supporter whose passion for the Gunners has made him a familiar face among Kenyan football fans.
“The General has been recognised! Honoured, grateful, and ready for the next mission,” he added.
He ended the post with his trademark excitement, writing, “MASAAAAAAAAAAAAA Time!!!”
Arsenal fandom
Useful Idioty has built a reputation as one of Kenya’s most vocal Arsenal supporters, regularly rallying fellow fans and passionately celebrating the club’s performances.
His loyalty to the North London side has also earned him recognition beyond ordinary fan circles.
In February 2026, President William Ruto pledged to sponsor Useful Idioty to travel to the United Kingdom to watch Arsenal play at the Emirates Stadium. Ruto made the light-hearted promise during a conversation with Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwour, popularly known as Jalang’o, about football loyalties.
Ruto, who is himself an Arsenal supporter, said he wanted Useful Idioty to experience watching his club live, while Manchester United fan Kevin Masagara would be sponsored to watch his team at Old Trafford.
Useful Idioty has also been involved in fan events, including the SportPesa Xperience, where he led the Arsenal side against Manchester United supporters.
Another Arsenal fan receives special gift
The recognition comes shortly after fellow Kenyan Arsenal supporter Nana Owiti received her own special package from Emirates.
Owiti showcased a gift package that included an Emirates Airbus A380-800 model, a letter celebrating Arsenal’s 2025/26 Premier League triumph and two Arsenal jerseys bearing the names of Alessia Russo and Declan Rice.
Like Useful Idioty, Owiti has been open about her love for the Gunners and has previously spoken about her dream of seeing Arsenal lift the UEFA Champions League trophy.
For Useful Idioty, however, the latest recognition adds another memorable chapter to his colourful journey as one of Kenya’s most passionate Arsenal fans.
