Rematch in Kampala: Arrow Bwoy challenges Shakib after Vurugu 2 loss
Kenyan musician Ali Yusuf, widely known as Arrow Bwoy, has officially called for a rematch against Ugandan boxer Shakib Cham Lutaaya following their first encounter at the Vurugu 2 boxing event, where he suffered a debut defeat after just 20 days of training.
In a passionate statement shared on Monday, June 22, 2026, Arrow Bwoy acknowledged Shakib’s victory, noting that his opponent was the better man on the night. However, he maintained that fans deserve to see a more balanced and competitive rematch with both fighters fully prepared.
“Today, I officially request a rematch between SHAKIB and myself in Kampala, Uganda,” Arrow Bwoy wrote.
“Respect to SHAKIB for the victory in our first encounter. He was the better man on the night. But I believe the fans deserve to see this rivalry settled with both fighters fully prepared and at their best.”

He further revealed that his first fight marked his debut in the ring after only a short training period, but insisted he is now ready to commit to more rigorous preparation.
“The first fight was my debut in the ring after only 20 days of training. Now I am ready to put in the work, sharpen my skills, and return stronger,” he added.

The artiste also called on fans across East Africa to weigh in on the potential rematch, asking whether they would like to see the two fighters face off again.
“To the fans in Uganda, Kenya, and across East Africa—would you like to see the rematch?” he said.
“Kampala. Bigger stage. Better preparation. Same warriors.”
The match on June 20, 2026, came after months of heavy online banter between the two public figures. Organised by media personality Oga Obinna, the event pulled a massive crowd both online and at the venue, blending live music with real ring action.
Things briefly turned chaotic during the official weigh-in when Arrow Bwoy threw an egg at Shakib, creating a huge buzz on social media. However, inside the ring, Shakib proved too strong and experienced for the Kenyan artist, forcing the referee to stop the fight just minutes into the second round.

His partner, Nadia Mukami, also showed her support online, praising his courage for taking up the challenge despite the short notice. Arrow Bwoy now plans to spend serious time in the gym to sharpen his skills and build his stamina before heading to Kampala.
The two faced off at the Vurugu 2 celebrity boxing match on June 20, 2026, at the Sarit Expo Centre in Nairobi, where Shakib won by a technical knockout in the second round.
