Pritty Vishy hits back at critics who question her DJ skills

Digital content creator and aspiring DJ Purity Vishenwa, better known as Pritty Vishy, has responded to criticism surrounding her new journey as a DJ, asking critics to give her time to learn instead of expecting perfection from someone who is just starting.
The content creator addressed the backlash in a post shared on her Instagram page on Thursday, July 23, 2026, after receiving mixed reactions to her first DJ mix. While some social media users encouraged her to keep practising, others questioned her skills and criticised her song transitions, prompting her to defend herself.
Says she is still learning
Responding to the criticism, Pritty acknowledged that she is new to DJing and said experience comes with time.

She noted that she does not expect to perform at the same level as professionals who have spent years in the industry. “One day I will be as experienced as you. For now, let me do what I have to do. You expect me to play like you while I have just started? Just leave me alone,” she wrote.
Pritty also expressed surprise that many of those criticising her were men, saying she never expected so many people to be invested in her new career path. “Damn, men are so weird. I swear I never thought men would be in my business this much,” she added.
Responds to advice from experienced DJs
Among those who reacted to her first mix were DJs and fans who offered advice, saying DJing takes time and patience to master.

One social media user commented, “Just from the way you transition the songs, it shows you still have a long way. Sometimes it’s not about what you play in the house. This comes with experience and time. DJing is not easy. Take your time and learn. Learn from every mistake.”
Pritty appreciated that experienced people have advice to offer but questioned why some were unwilling to allow beginners to grow. “Those people who are experienced have a lot of advice. Why can’t you let one learn as they grow?” she responded.
Determined to prove herself
The latest remarks come days after Pritty addressed concerns over her decision to venture into DJing. She explained that she understands why people had questions about her first mix but insisted she is committed to improving her skills.

The content creator also said she respects the profession and understands the effort required to become a successful DJ. According to her, she is looking forward to proving herself during live performances as she gains more experience.
Pritty recently announced her new career direction by sharing photos of herself using professional DJ equipment, including a controller and headphones, signalling that she is serious about pursuing the craft.
Despite the criticism, she has maintained that every professional starts somewhere and believes her progress will speak for itself as she continues to learn and gain experience behind the decks.
