Pritty Vishy breaks down after faulty equipment disrupts her first DJ gig

Digital content creator and aspiring DJ Purity Vishenwa, better known as Pritty Vishy, has opened up about the emotional aftermath of her debut DJ performance, revealing that she broke down in tears after what was meant to be one of the happiest moments of her career was disrupted by technical problems.
In heartfelt posts shared on Thursday, July 23, 2026, Pritty said she had spent weeks preparing for her first gig and was confident she would deliver her best performance.
However, faulty equipment during the event left her feeling like she had failed despite being fully prepared.
“After the show, when I went to my house, I really cried because I trained for it. I BELIEVED IN MYSELF; I knew I was supposed to give my very best and felt like I FAILED as a beginner,” Pritty Vishy revealed.
The influencer explained that her team later reassured her that the challenges she experienced were beyond her control, insisting that the equipment, not her preparation, was to blame.
“My team really tried to make me understand that it was my first gig and it wasn’t my fault that their equipment FAILED ME, but heeeey again, it wasn’t my fault. Was it mine? Naaaaaah, because my playlist was ready, I was ready, happy and nervous at the same time. I will tell you guys what happened, YOOOOH,” she explained.
Lessons learnt
Although the experience left her heartbroken, Pritty said she has accepted it as part of her learning journey.
“For those who want to know what happened on my first gig, stay tuned. I have a lot to say, and I took my L’s as my first gig, but I’m so grateful I had to encounter what I encountered because I believe it opened my eyes in one way or another,” Pritty Vishy wrote.
Passion for djing
Despite the setback, Pritty remains determined to pursue her dream of becoming one of Kenya’s top female DJs.
“As a beginner I’m going to be the baddest female DJ. Soon, watch this space; I’m going to take everything SLOW…continue learning what I need to learn,” she added.
She also revealed that becoming a DJ has been a long-held dream, but financial challenges delayed her journey.
According to Pritty, enrolling for training and purchasing DJ equipment were major hurdles, forcing her to wait until she had saved enough money to get started.
“I didn’t just wake up one day and decide to take this path; for years I dreamt of it, but I couldn’t do it… because of funds to enrol and buy at least one or two pieces of equipment, but then again when I got some small amount I knew I should go for it,” she stated.
“They always say start with what you have or start small… I didn’t have “that small” OR “anything to begin with”, but here I’m now, enjoying what I love.”
