Kanyari credits his mother for standing by him after everyone left during ‘Mbegu ya 310’ scandal

Controversial preacher Pastor Victor Kanyari has opened up about the emotional toll of the 310 scandal, revealing that it led to the collapse of his closest relationships, including his marriage and family ties.
Speaking during a Sunday sermon on June 14, 2026, Kanyari said the fallout left him completely isolated, claiming that even his wife and children walked away during the difficult period.
He added that the only person who remained by his side was his mother, Prophetess Lucy Nduta, a bond he now deeply values.
“I was left alone. My wife and children all left me. I remained with my mother only; that’s why I love my mother so much. She is the only one who stood with me,” he said.
Changed outlook on life and faith
Kanyari added that the experience changed his outlook on life and faith, noting that he now places greater value on family support and resilience in times of hardship.
He further encouraged people to appreciate their parents, especially mothers, during both good and difficult times.
“That’s why I always tell people, instead of bringing me offerings, just take care of your mother. God has already blessed me, and I am enough,” he added.

Previously, Kanyari had also spoken about the strong bond he shares with his mother, Prophetess Lucy Nduta, revealing that he regularly supports her financially. He claimed that he sends her Ksh 30,000 every week and ensures she lives comfortably.
He further stated that he had provided her with a house and a car, emphasising his commitment to caring for her.
“The house she lives in, I built for her. The car she drives, I bought for her. I love my mother. Every week, I must send my mother KSh 30,000,” he previously said.
Kanyari also shared light moments about how his mother reminds him when it is time to send the money, often jokingly hinting when she needs support, a signal he says he always understands immediately.
The preacher maintains that despite past controversies, his relationship with his mother remains one of the strongest foundations in his life.
