Tanzanian influencer Chief Godlove declares himself Kenyan after building Ksh132M Karen mansion

Tanzanian influencer Godlove Mwakibete, popularly known as Chief Godlove, has declared Kenya his new home after completing construction of a multimillion-shilling mansion in Karen, Nairobi, jokingly telling Kenyans that he is now one of them.

The influencer made the declaration on Friday, August 7, 2026, while giving an emotional update on his journey of building the lavish home, revealing that the project had cost him about Tsh2.7 billion, equivalent to approximately Ksh132.6 million.

The self-proclaimed billionaire appeared particularly excited about reaching the completion stage of the massive project and hinted that he would soon give his followers a detailed tour of the property.

“Kenya sasa ni nyumbani na sio nchi jirani. Wakenya, mimi ni Mkenya mwenzenu sasa mnasemaje?” he wrote.

Chief Godlove then revealed the staggering amount he had spent on the Karen property, saying he had completed construction with a budget of Tsh2 billion while also referring to an additional amount of about Tsh700 million.

The combined figure places the reported cost of the project at about Tsh2.7 billion, translating to approximately Ksh132.6 million.

Rather than simply celebrating the completion of the property, however, Chief Godlove added a humorous twist by turning his attention to Tanzanians who have criticised or mocked his growing attachment to Kenya.

He joked that he was considering buying tickets for some of the people who troll him from the Samia Suluhu-led country so that they could travel to Kenya and see the property for themselves.

“Nawaza niwakatie ticket wapiga kelele wa Tanzania waje wapige kelele,” he wrote.

Chief Godlove also confirmed that he would give his audience a detailed look inside the mansion through a house tour on YouTube.

He said the tour would show viewers every corner of the property, urging his followers to tune in at the time he had announced.

“Nitapost saa moja kamili YouTube kwenye account yangu, house tour. Nitawaonyesha kila kona, kila chocho ya nyumba,” he wrote.

‘Treat me as a Kenyan’

Separately, Chief declared that he no longer wishes to be viewed as a Tanzanian, saying he now considers himself Kenyan.

Speaking in a video shared on TikTok on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, the content creator expressed his admiration for Kenya, revealing that he had decided to settle in Nairobi after travelling to more than 15 countries.

Chief said Kenya had offered him an experience unlike any other country he had visited, adding that he now feels at home and wants Kenyans to regard him as one of their own.

“By the way, right now, Kenyans don’t look at me as a Tanzanian anymore. Deem me as your fellow Kenyan because I am here and I am living with you guys here. And I am here to stay,” he said.

The influencer disclosed that he currently lives in Karen, one of Nairobi’s upscale suburbs, where he said he is enjoying life in what he described as his mansion.

According to Chief, his decision to relocate was informed by the freedom and lifestyle he had experienced in Kenya, saying he had not found the same environment in the many countries he had previously visited.

“I have gone through many countries, over 15 of them, and I chose Kenya because what I have seen in Kenya I have not seen in all those other countries,” he stated.

While showering praise on the country, the influencer maintained that he did not want to delve into Kenya’s politics, insisting his decision to settle there was purely based on his personal experience.

“I don’t want to advise you a lot or even make opinions about your politics, but I have chosen your country,” he added.
