Mosiria shares his UoN certificate as he responds to claims he was once expelled over indiscipline

Nairobi County Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria has shared official University of Nairobi records as he responded to claims that he was once expelled from the institution over indiscipline during his student years.
Mosiria addressed the claims in a Facebook post on Thursday, September 17, 2026, while in Munich, Germany, saying he had come across what he described as a fake narrative being pushed about his time at the University of Nairobi.
The outspoken county official said he had never been suspended or expelled from the institution, insisting that his university record was clean and did not contain any history of criminal activity.
“Good morning, my good people from Munich, Germany!!” Mosiria began.
“I have seen some people trying to push a fake narrative online, and I would like to set the record straight. During my time at the University of Nairobi, I was never suspended or expelled from the institution. I have clean records and no history of goons or criminal activities,” he wrote.
To reinforce his response, Mosiria shared an official letter from the University of Nairobi’s Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs), dated November 11, 2024.
The document identifies him as Geoffrey Mosiria Omatoke and states that he was admitted to the University of Nairobi on September 5, 2011, to pursue a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
The university records further state that he successfully completed the course and was conferred a Bachelor of Commerce degree in the Finance option, Second Class Honours (Upper Division), at a congregation held at the institution on December 5, 2014.
The letter also confirms that Mosiria held a leadership position in the Students’ Organization of Nairobi University (SONU), serving as Secretary for Sports and Entertainment.
The university’s academic affairs office further addressed his disciplinary record, stating that its records did not show him appearing before a disciplinary committee for violating university rules and regulations.
“Based on the information in our records, Geoffrey Mosiria Omatoke did not appear before any disciplinary committee for violation of University rules and regulations,” the letter states.
The document adds that there were no disciplinary actions or incidents recorded against him up to his graduation in 2014.
Mosiria used the university record to reinforce his account of his time at the institution, saying he had been an active student who performed well academically and took part in student leadership.
“I was one of the best students in my class, served as a class representative, and also took up a leadership role in SONU,” he wrote.
“My record as a student speaks for itself, and I remain proud of my journey and the values I carried throughout my university years.”
