Mosiria rescued after getting lost in Germany

Nairobi County Chief Officer for Customer Engagement Geoffrey Mosiria has shared how he got completely lost in Germany while trying to navigate the country’s train and metro system during his ongoing trip.

In a statement shared on his Instagram page on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, Mosiria said he found himself stuck in an underpass as he tried to find his way to his hotel.

The Nairobi official said navigating an unfamiliar transport system proved difficult, with communication also making the experience more challenging.

“Majamaa, I got completely lost in the underpass while trying to navigate the trains and metro to get to my hotel. In Germany, you really need to know the places, and the communication can be challenging,” Mosiria stated.

With the underground passages proving more confusing than expected, Mosiria turned to social media and went live. His livestream was seen by a young man named Owen, who lives in the area.

Owen was able to trace Mosiria’s location and went to find him before personally accompanying him to his hotel.

“I went live, and a young man named Owen, who lives nearby, saw the situation, traced where we were, and came to our rescue. He personally took us to the hotel where I’ll be staying during my time here in Germany,” Mosiria narrated.

The unexpected rescue gave Mosiria a first-hand example of how social media can be useful in situations that go well beyond entertainment.

He said the experience had reinforced his belief that platforms such as TikTok can help people connect when they are in unfamiliar surroundings and need assistance.

“The power of social media should never be undermined. It can do more than entertain it can connect people, protect lives, and even save lives. ❤️🙏”

Mosiria concluded his message with a playful declaration that, despite the confusing German transport system, the experience had not convinced him to abandon TikTok.

Mosiria’s Germany trip

Mosiria has been documenting his international travels on social media, sharing moments from his journey with his followers.

Before his Germany experience, he was in Dubai, where he visited a luxury watch shop and reacted to the price of a Rolex costing about US$44,000, which is more than Ksh5 million.

The trip has given his followers a glimpse into his experiences outside Kenya, although his adventure in Germany took an unexpected turn when he found himself trying to work out the local train and metro network.

Germany has an extensive public transport system, with trains, underground services and other connections operating across its cities. For a visitor unfamiliar with the routes, stations and signs, navigating underground stations can be confusing, particularly when travelling to an unfamiliar hotel.
