‘Nawaombea’: Kanyari elated as Eric Omondi brings tens of Manchester United fans to his church

Salvation Healing Ministry founder Pastor Victor Kanyari has expressed excitement after comedian Eric Omondi and his troop of Manchester United fans visited his church ahead of a highly anticipated football clash between Kenyan supporters of the two English clubs.
In a video shared on Facebook on Sunday, August 2, 2026, the preacher is seen welcoming Omondi and his troops and guiding them to occupy some designated seats in the front row.
The Manchester United fans were at the church ahead of a match at Nyayo Stadium, where Kenyan supporters of Manchester United and Arsenal are set to face each other in a showdown to determine who is the GOAT, with Omondi leading the Manchester United side.
The pastor then revealed that Omondi himself supports Manchester United, adding that the church also has members who support Arsenal, the club’s rivals.
“And today we have the honour of having Eric Omondi in our church. He has come with tens of Manchester United fans to my church, and he is supporting Manchester United himself,” Kanyari said.
Kanyari then turned his attention to Arsenal supporters, joking that even fans of the London club could resort to seeking the help of witchdoctors in their desperation to see their team emerge victorious.
“I know we also have members who support Arsenal here. So even if Arsenal seeks the witch doctor’s help,” he said.
The preacher went on to recall how people have previously trolled him over claims that he asks people for money before praying for them.
Kanyari, however, pointed out that Omondi had contributed Ksh25,000 as an offering to the church before asking him to pray for Manchester United.
He said Omondi specifically requested prayers because he wanted Manchester United to emerge victorious in the upcoming match.
“People always troll me and say I was asking for money to pray for people. And today Eric has contributed an offering of Ksh25,000 in this church. When giving that offering, he told me, ‘Pastor, I want you to pray for me,’” Kanyari said.
According to Kanyari, Omondi’s prayer request was directly linked to his desire to see Manchester United win, prompting him to publicly declare victory for the club.
The pastor then claimed that Arsenal fans had explored various avenues in their quest to influence the outcome of the match, including seeking the services of traditional seers.
“Because he wants Manchester United to win, I declare victory for Man United. I know Arsenal fans have sought all means, including going to traditional seers, and given money there so the game can turn out in their favour,” he added.
Kanyari contrasted the two groups of fans, saying that while Arsenal supporters had taken their money to traditional medicine men, Omondi and the Manchester United fans had brought their money to church.
“But Eric and his fans have brought their money to church,” Kanyari said.
He then made a firm declaration that Manchester United would not lose when the two teams eventually face each other.
“And when that match is played, I declare that Man United will not lose,” he said.
