Kanyari to Kasarani voters: If I could ask for Ksh310 and get it, I can ask for govt funds

Pastor Victor Kanyari has told Kasarani voters that his ability to get people to give the controversial Mbegu ya 310 gives him confidence that he can also secure government funds if elected Member of Parliament.

Kanyari, who is seeking to represent Kasarani in the 2027 General Election, made the remarks while addressing residents on Sunday, September 13, 2026, as he rallied support for his political bid.

“If I was able to kuitisha Ksh310 ninatumiwa, ninaamini ya kwamba nitakuwa na uwezo ya kuitisha pesa huko juu,” Kanyari said.

Kanyari said that if elected, he would push for improvements in roads while also ensuring children in the constituency get access to education.

“Na tutatengeneza barabara. Watoto watasoma,” he said.

He went on to make a sweeping pledge on school fees, promising that no child in Kasarani would have to pay school fees if he wins the parliamentary seat.

“Mimi nikichaguliwa kuwa mbunge wa Kasarani, hakuna mtoto atalipa school fees. Hata kidogo,” Kanyari said.

The preacher has been campaigning for the Kasarani parliamentary seat as he seeks to make the transition from religious leadership into elective politics.

Kanyari addresses social media criticism

During his address, Kanyari also spoke about the criticism he receives over his behaviour and public appearances, particularly on social media.

“Si mnakaga kidogo mnaniona kwa social media? Ee! Munaona kidogo nimeleta wenda wazimu?” he asked.

Kanyari said some people had described him as confused because of his activities in Kasarani.

“Naleta huko Kisirani, watu wanasema Kanyari amechanganyikiwa,” he said.

He, however, dismissed the claims and insisted that his mental state was sound.

“Lakini sikuwahi akili yangu ni timamu. Sinaga kasoro yoyote,” Kanyari said.

Kanyari concluded by appealing to residents across Kasarani to join his political camp, saying his team would not exclude anyone.

“So mimi sina maneno mengi, ninawapenda na ninawaalika wote kati-kati team Kanyari. Hatupagui,” he said.

Kanyari has previously declared his intention to contest the Kasarani MP seat in 2027, saying he wants to address challenges affecting residents, including poor roads and access to opportunities.
