Mosiria explains why he is comfortable with the woman rep tag

Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service Geoffrey Mosiria has explained why he is comfortable with being referred to as a Woman Representative by social media users.
Speaking in an interview on Sunday, September 13, 2026, Mosiria said he would be happy to represent women, drawing inspiration from his family background where his father had three wives whom he described as his mothers.
“If it’s a seat for representing the women, I’ll be happy because my father had three wives, who are my mothers, and he took good care of them, and I would be happy to take care of our women,” Mosiria said.
Mosiria embraces Women Rep tag
The Nairobi County official said he has also embraced the tag as he continues his public engagements involving women and children.
“And those calling me Woman Rep, now I’m the patron of the women, taking care of women and children,” he said.
Mosiria added that he remains committed to women despite acknowledging that he is not a woman.

“Mosiria is for women, and women are for Mosiria, but Mosiria is not a woman,” he said.
Mosiria also appeared to challenge those who have criticised or threatened him, saying they would face him at the ballot.
“So those who have a mother, like Obinna and Babu, leave the mother, because I’m taking care of the mothers, and I’ll be with the mothers, and if they threaten me, we’ll meet at the ballot,” he said.
Defends roadside content
Mosiria also addressed criticism over his frequent roadside interventions and social media videos, rejecting claims that he is merely seeking online attention.

“I use content to educate the people,” he said.
He cited his efforts to help vulnerable people, including rescuing a sick person and helping a woman identified as Mother Njoki who had been living on the streets of Nairobi.
“If being a content creator is what will change the people of Nairobi’s lives, let me be that content creator who changes lives,” Mosiria said.
