Singer Bahati took to Instagram to send a message to Tanzania’s Diamond after his loss in the BET Awards 2021.

Bahati had asserted confidence in Diamond prior to the final day, however, he lost his nomination for the Best International Act price to Grammy’s and BET three-time winner Nigeria’s Burna Boy.

“My brother, you are still a winner. You have achieved a lot at a young age and let no one lie to you. You inspire a lot of kids I the Swahili nation and beyond. You inspire them to know you can come from nothing to something, zero to hero. Aim higher for the Grammys maybe. Still proud of you for representing so well. Let me remind you, Bado wewe ni simba!” he wrote.

Diamond who had traveled to LA in the USA for the event graced the red carpet in a red Maasai regalia with a sword and a shield.

In 2016, Diamond lost to South Africa’s Black Coffee after he failed to clinch the award in 2014 which went to Nigeria’s Davido.
