Musician Kevin Bahati has come to the defence of his wife, content creator Diana Marua, following online backlash over her interview involving Morgan about the Lenana School unrest.

Speaking during a side interview at the official launch of Kamba festivals on Wednesday night, June 3, 2026, Bahati dismissed criticism directed at Diana, insisting that she was simply acting in her professional capacity as a content creator.

Bahati further stated that the situation escalated online before they had fully understood what was happening. He noted that the video was later pulled down after concerns were raised.

Mimi, I saw later that Diana is a content creator; she is very spontaneous; she is very random, so we saw later when people were calling and she pulled down the video,” Bahati said.

The singer, speaking about the recent unrest witnessed in various schools, urged students to be cautious when engaging in protests or strikes, warning that such actions can sometimes escalate beyond expectations.

“Mine is just to pray for the schools and encourage the young people that at the end of the day we have a future to protect,” he added.

“When you are planning a strike, you never know how it will end up.”

He added that students only have a limited time in school, but the choices they make during that period can shape their future.

“You are only in school for four years and you are planning to live like for 70 years, if you make use of the years you are in school, it will create a foundation that will protect you in the next years that you will live,” Bahati stated.

Diana on Lenana school unrest

Bahati’s remarks come days after Diana expressed concern following unrest at Lenana School that led to the suspension of normal operations and the return of students to their homes, including her son, Morgan.

In an Instagram video on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, Diana revealed that the first call she received on the morning of the incident came from the school, requesting parents to make arrangements to pick up their children after unrest and destruction broke out the previous night.

She questioned the growing trend of unrest in schools, asking why one strike often appears to trigger similar incidents in other institutions, leading to widespread disruption of learning.

“The first call we received this morning was from Lenana School. We were asked to make arrangements to pick up our son, @morgan_bahati, after unrest and destruction broke out at the school the previous night, forcing the institution to suspend normal operations. What is happening to our schools? Why does it seem that when one school experiences a strike, several others soon follow?” Diana said.

The content creator said she found it difficult listening to her son narrate what happened during the chaos, describing the experience as emotionally overwhelming and hard to comprehend.

She added that the situation raised serious concerns about safety and discipline in schools.

“Listening to Morgan narrate what transpired was difficult, and trying to comprehend the events was even harder,” she added.
