Blogger Njambi Fever has shared a story about one of the bold decisions she made in 2019 when she was 19 years old and still in school.

She said she was living in a bedsitter in Juja at the time and was focused on finding a way to leave Kenya for opportunities abroad.

“Crazy things we did in our early 20’s? I’ll start! It’s 2019. A girl is 19 niko na kabedsitter kangu kasafi juja while still in school. Haaya dreams ni kutoka Kenya,” Njambi Fever said on Friday, June 5, 2026.

She explained that an uncle living abroad told her to take some documents to a friend’s office in Kiambu. According to her, she believed the process could help her travel overseas, so she carried the documents and delivered them as instructed.

“Uncle fulani wa majuu akaniambia niende kwa office ya rafiki yake iko Kiambu nidrop documents zangu huyo ni sure bet nitaenda majuu,” she said.

After dropping off the documents, Njambi said she headed to a stage to wait for transport back to Juja. It was while waiting that an unexpected encounter changed the rest of her day.

Adventure takes a different turn

Njambi said a private car stopped near her, and she found three men and one woman inside. She explained that they offered her a lift and she accepted without hesitation.

“Nikiwa stage, private car ikasimama. Iko na wanaume 3 na one lady. Wakaniuliza kama nataka lift nikasema yes, why not,” Njambi Fever said.

She said the group was drinking and later invited her to join them for lunch at a hotel in Kiambu. Njambi explained that she agreed to go with them and spend more time together despite not knowing them personally.

“Mi nani fuata strangers ukakule lunch,” she said.

Njambi recalled that they later shared a meal of nyama choma, chips, ugali, beer and cider. She added that she even lied about her age, telling them she was 25 years old instead of 19.

“Sema kudanganya hadi miaka ati niko 25yrs,” she said.

As the day went on, Njambi said the group decided to continue their outing into the evening. She explained that when they asked whether she was comfortable joining them for the next destination, she agreed to continue with the adventure.

“Lol ikafika 6 wakasema wanaendeleza bash if I’m comfortable tuende nikose kuwa comfortable why? Panda gari twende next destination,” she said.
