Kalekye Mumo reveals the real reason behind her weight loss journey

Kalekye Mumo has revealed that her weight loss journey was not simply about fitting into smaller clothes, saying she wanted to become stronger, more agile and healthier.
The media personality said she is happy with the changes in her body and enjoys fitting into clothes she had not worn in years. However, she explained that what matters more to her is what she can now do with her body.
“This journey was never just about getting into a smaller dress,” Kalekye Mumo said on Saturday, September 12, 2026.

Kalekye said seeing the difference in her body has been incredible, but her main focus has been on becoming stronger. She explained that she wanted to improve her agility and be able to do activities without feeling that her body was limiting her.
“Yes, seeing the difference in my body is incredible. And yes, I’m enjoying fitting into clothes I haven’t worn in years,” Kalekye Mumo said.
The media personality said her weight loss journey is also connected to her desire to take better care of herself as she gets older. She explained that growing older is unavoidable, but she does not believe that getting weaker has to be part of the process.
Getting stronger and healthier
Kalekye said one of her goals was to become strong enough to dance for Jesus without feeling that her body was holding her back. She explained that she also wants to age more strongly and healthily so she can take care of herself for as long as possible.
“But what means even more to me is what I can do now. I wanted to be stronger. More agile. I wanted to dance for Jesus without feeling like my body is holding me back,” Kalekye Mumo said.

She said her journey is still a work in progress and that she remains focused on maintaining healthy habits. Kalekye explained that she wants to keep eating healthy, moving more and building her strength as she continues taking care of her body.
“And most importantly, age stronger and healthier so that I can take care of myself for as long as possible. Because let’s face it, getting older is inevitable. Getting weaker DOES NOT have to be,” Kalekye Mumo said.
Kalekye said she is not treating the changes as the end of her journey, noting that she still has more work to do. She explained that her focus remains on eating healthy, increasing her movement, building strength and taking care of the body she has been given.
