Gospel minister Rozina Mwakideu has sent a message of faith and hope to her supporters as she and her brother, Alex Mwakideu, face a Ksh20 million defamation lawsuit filed by her ex-husband, Pastor Robert Burale.

In a message shared on Facebook on Thursday, October 23, 2025, Rozina described the day as a significant one for her family, noting that it marks the first court mention of the case in which she and Alex have been listed as defendants.

“Today, October 23, 2025, may be a kawaida day for you. It is the day that my brother Alex and I will be mentioned in court for the first time, as defendants. Being sued for Ksh20 million for defamation by Robert Burale,” Rozina wrote.

She expressed confidence that God’s will would prevail, adding that her peace remained unshaken despite the ongoing legal battle.

“In all this, one thing I know for sure: God will be greatly glorified. May peace continue to fill our hearts. Thank you for your prayers and support. #MunguKwanza,” she wrote in her post.

The ongoing case stems from a YouTube video posted on Alex Mwakideu’s YouTube channel, which Pastor Burale claims contained defamatory remarks against him.

In the suit filed under a certificate of urgency at the Milimani Commercial Magistrate Court on October 8, 2025, Burale sought several orders, including an injunction to restrain Alex and Rozina from publishing or making any further statements about him.

“That pending the hearing and determination of this application inter partes, an order of injunction be granted restraining the respondent (Alex), whether by himself or his agents, from publishing and causing to be published any post or statements defamatory of the applicant (Burale) published on October 4, 2025, by any means inclusive of his YouTube channel under the name Alex Mwakideu,” part of the application read.

He also requested that the court compel the two to pull down and delete the video, issue a public apology with extensive media coverage, and withdraw any statements deemed defamatory.

Burale further asked the court to prohibit social media users from sharing or reposting the video’s contents pending the hearing and determination of the case.

“That pending the hearing and determination of this application, an order of injunction be issued compelling the respondent (Alex Mwakideu), either by himself or his agents, to forthwith pull down and delete each post containing parts/intoto of the contents in the video https://.com/watch?v=UnVWMJWcj0u and of its related content,” Burale stated in his application.
