Nairobi County’s Chief Officer for Customer Engagement and Citizen Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, has said he is fully satisfied with his salary, insisting that his monthly earnings are sufficient to meet his personal needs and support community causes.

Speaking during an interview on Saturday, June 6, 2026, Mosiria maintained that he is content with his salary.

“I believe in living according to what I have earned. My salary is enough for me, and part of it supports people like Mama Njoki,” he said, explaining that his income is sufficient for both personal and community needs.

The remarks were made during the interview, where he was questioned about corruption within Nairobi County leadership. The interviewer pointed to a recent arrest involving a senior official and questioned why Mosiria had not openly called out some of his colleagues.

“Recently, a senior officer in your department for planning and development was arrested with 65 million shillings. People are saying this is a common pattern in Nairobi County leadership. Why are you not exposing him, yet you are exposing others like Njoki?” he was asked.

Mosiria responded by saying that the matter was already in the public domain and under active investigation, adding that it should be handled through the right legal channels without interference.

“The media has already covered that story, and investigations are ongoing,” he said, stressing that public discussion should not interfere with due process. He added that he had confidence in the relevant agencies to handle the matter properly.

He further called on the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and other agencies to carry out thorough investigations without bias. “I am requesting EACC officers and all relevant agencies to ensure proper investigations are carried out so that appropriate action can be taken according to the law,” he said.

Mosiria also emphasised fairness in the process, noting that investigations should not target only selected individuals.

“They should investigate all of us equally. Even I can be investigated if there is suspicion against me,” he added, highlighting his support for equal accountability among public officers.

He urged patience as government agencies complete their work. “Let us leave the government to complete its investigations and tell us where the truth lies,” he said.

Mosiria also hinted at a planned operation targeting individuals he claims are exploiting young people in the city through illegal activities involving aviation fuel. He said such networks should be dismantled to protect vulnerable youths.

Despite the pressure from questions on corruption and accountability, he insisted that he remains focused on his duties and continues to support lawful investigations rather than public speculation.
