Wicknell Chivayo promises Zimbabwean bishop a Rolls-Royce facelift and cash

Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo has celebrated Zion Christian Church (ZCC) leader Bishop Nehemiah Mutendi’s birthday with an extravagant gift comprising a brand-new Rolls-Royce Cullinan facelift and US$250,000 (approximately Ksh32.4 million) in cash.
Chivayo made the announcement on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, in a lengthy post shared on X, where he praised Mutendi for his decades of service to the church and his commitment to his faith.
Chivayo praises Bishop Mutendi
In his birthday message, Chivayo described Mutendi as a “true servant of God” whose dedication to preaching the Gospel and providing spiritual guidance had touched generations of believers.
He praised the bishop’s leadership, highlighting his wisdom, humility and dignity while noting that under his leadership, ZCC had continued bringing people together and teaching values such as prayer, discipline, hard work, family values and respect for others.
Chivayo also highlighted what he called Mutendi’s “consistency in serving God”, saying genuine servants of God should be honoured and appreciated while they are still alive.
He argued that people should not wait until someone dies before acknowledging their contribution to Christianity, their communities and their country.
“Your many years of service are a testimony of faithfulness, endurance and total commitment to God’s calling,” Chivayo wrote.
Rolls-Royce and cash gift
Against the birthday celebrations, Chivayo announced that Mutendi’s ‘ brand-spanking-new’ 2026 Rolls-Royce Cullinan facelift had finally arrived.
He said the luxury vehicle would be handed over to the bishop by ‘the Principal’, together with US$250,000, which he described as petty cash for fuel and personal use.
“This is simply my small way of saying thankyou for the years you have devoted to the work of God,” Chivayo stated.
He acknowledged that no material gift could equal a lifetime dedicated to serving God but said people should find ways to appreciate those who remain faithful to their calling.
Chivayo further urged Mutendi to continue leading ZCC with wisdom, humility and love while praying for Zimbabwe, its leadership, families and children.
He said the country needed strong spiritual leaders who would remind people that regardless of achievements, positions or material possessions, “God must always come first.”
Chivayo concluded by wishing Mutendi good health, strength, wisdom and many more years of fruitful service, before telling the bishop to enjoy his well-deserved present.
This comes a day after he celebrated President Mnangagwa’s birthday with extravagant gifts.
