Rev Kathy Kiuna recalls mid-flight vision of God’s support after hubby died
Jubilee Christian Church (JCC) co-founder Reverend Kathy Kiuna has given a deeply emotional account of a divine encounter she experienced while on a flight to the United States, in which God reminded her of the help He had sent her way following her hubby Bishop Allan Kiuna’s death.
Speaking during her church’s FEM conference on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, the woman of God recalled that as she travelled, she found herself singing as she considered how far God had brought her since her husband’s passing.
“As I was travelling way back, and I was on my way to America, I looked at what God has done in my life. The person who stood on this altar over and over for years was our bishop, my husband, my late husband. And I saw that what God has done for me since the time my husband went to be with the Lord cannot be the hand of a man. It can only be the hand of God,” she said.
She went on to share that during the flight, the Lord brought to her mind every blessing and breakthrough she had experienced in the months since her loss, each memory flashing vividly before her.
“As I was flying, the Lord just brought all the things that He has done for me, and as they kept flashing before me, I just said, ‘I have come to see that You have done me well.’ I just began to sing,” she recounted.

Before continuing with her sermon, Kathy paused to publicly express her thanks.
She noted that she could have likely lost herself during that moment of grief or suffered something worse, but insisted that God had kept His promise to shield her.
“Before I do anything on this altar today, allow me to say thank you, that He held my mind together, that God held me together, that I did not lose it and that I am still here today. I am grateful, so thank you, God. Even you, the Lord has put you together, so be thankful.”
Her remarks added another chapter to the public expressions of grief and gratitude she has shared since the passing of her husband, Bishop Allan Kiuna, on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with multiple myeloma, a rare form of blood cancer.
He died at the age of 58 at a Nairobi hospital, surrounded by close family members.
Bishop Kiuna, who founded JCC in the late 1990s with his wife, had been diagnosed with the disease in 2018 and underwent extensive treatment in the United States, which he once revealed had cost nearly Ksh390 million.
Despite the toll on his health, he returned to Kenya determined to continue preaching, often declaring healing and hope to his congregants even as his condition worsened.
Under his leadership, JCC grew into one of the largest and most influential Pentecostal churches in Kenya, with multiple campuses, a vibrant television ministry, and a global following.
His death triggered a nationwide outpouring of grief, with political leaders, fellow clergy, and thousands of followers mourning what they described as the loss of a bold, visionary man of faith.
Rev Kathy, who has since assumed the role of the church’s main bishop, has repeatedly affirmed that she will honour his legacy and continue the ministry they built together.
