Ruto recalls being informed of invasion at his office before discovering it was Rhema Feast prayer warriors

President William Ruto has revealed that he was initially informed that there had been an invasion at the Office of the President before discovering that the unusual incident involved prayer warriors, as he praised thousands of young Kenyans gathered at Rhema Feast for turning Nairobi into a centre of prayer.
Speaking during the final day of Rhema Feast at Uhuru Park in Nairobi on Friday, September 4, 2026, Ruto recounted how someone approached him the previous day with news of an invasion at the Office of the President, only for him to later learn that those who had entered were prayer warriors.
Ruto said the unexpected revelation offered him a different perspective of what had been taking place around Nairobi throughout the week, particularly the large-scale prayers and worship that had brought together thousands of young people at the Christian gathering.
“Yesterday somebody walked to me and said, sir, there is an invasion in the Office of the President, and later I discovered it was an invasion by prayer warriors,” he said.
He said the streets of Nairobi had witnessed an extraordinary level of prayer during the week, expressing his appreciation for the young people who had gathered to seek God and saying their faith had given him renewed confidence in the future of the country.
The President then praised what he had witnessed during the five-day gathering, telling worshippers that there was hope in Kenya.
Ruto said he had been particularly overwhelmed by the commitment he had seen among young people, noting that their decision to trust God gave the nation confidence.
“Nairobi, praise the Lord. There is hope in Kenya. I am overwhelmed by what I see in the young people of our nation. You do not know how much confidence you give to our nation when you trust God,” Ruto said.
The President used the anecdote to underscore the scale of prayer that had taken place in Nairobi during the week, saying the city had experienced a remarkable display of faith.
“The streets of Nairobi have never witnessed prayer like the way it has witnessed this week in the city of Nairobi,” he said.
Ruto went on to thank the young people who had participated in Rhema Feast, describing the country as a great nation and expressing strong confidence in its future.
“We thank God for you, the young people of our nation. We are privileged to be in a great nation and I have so much confidence and faith in the future of our nation,” he said.
The President concluded his remarks by extending his blessings to Kenya, speaking on behalf of himself and First Lady Rachael Ruto.
“God bless you and our great nation of Kenya from me and my wife Rachael,” he said.
Ruto was given an opportunity to address the congregation by Rhema Feast convener Reverend Julian Kyula towards the end of the final day, shortly after Nigerian preacher and Koinonia Global founder Apostle Joshua Selman had ministered.
His appearance at the gathering came as thousands of worshippers filled Uhuru Park for the final day of the five-day Christian convention, which has featured a succession of prominent local and international ministers.
On Thursday evening, hundreds of worshippers raised their mobile phones and switched on their torches as Selman made his way to the stage, turning sections of Uhuru Park into a sea of lights.
The highly anticipated Nigerian preacher was welcomed with loud cheers and jubilation, while worshippers recorded his arrival on their phones as confetti filled the air.
What is Rhema Feast?
Rhema Feast 2026 is a five-day Christian gathering being held at Uhuru Park in Nairobi from Monday, August 31, to Friday, September 4, 2026, under the theme “Come, Let Us Rebuild”.
The gathering is convened by Ruach Assemblies founder and Senior Pastor Reverend Julian Kyula and traces its roots to 2015, when it was founded under RUACH Assemblies, a ministry of The Purpose Centre Church.
The opening day on Monday, August 31, featured Bishop JB Masinde, Lady Bishop Funke Felix-Adejumo, Minister Ntokozo Mbambo and Minister Njoki Munyi.
Day Two on Tuesday, September 1, saw Apostle Isi Igenegba, Lady Bishop Kathy Kiuna, Minister Dr Tumi, Lady Bishop Funke Felix-Adejumo and Apostle Michael Orokpo minister to the congregation.
The third day on Wednesday, September 2, featured Reverend Julian Kyula, Apostle Mignonne Kabera, Apostle Michael Orokpo, Bishop JB Masinde, Apostle Felix Okoh and Apostle Grace Lubega.
Thursday, September 3, the fourth day, featured Apostle Joshua Selman, Minister Sinach, Apostle Mignonne Kabera, Reverend Julian Kyula, Pastor Poju Oyemade and Apostle Felix Okoh.
