As the online community mourns the death of sensation Brian Chira, TikToker Rose Atieno alias Nyako was not left behind in paying her last respects to the late content creator.
As condolences pour in from across the internet, Nyako held a live session to pay tribute to Chira.
Donned in a black suit, she lit a candle and released balloons in honour of Chira.
The atmosphere was solemn as Amos and Josh’s hit song “Baadaye” played softly in the background.
Nyako, who once shared a close bond with Chira, expressed her emotions during the live session.
“I’m paying my last respect to Brian Chira, that’s why I am in a suit. Chira wanted a suit, that’s why I put it on.”
As friends and followers joined the live session to mourn together, Nyako played Otile Brown’s song ‘One Call’, which was reportedly Chira’s favourite song.
Chira’s send-off
Despite the early morning rain, fans gathered at Kenyatta University Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, to pay their respects to the late TikToker Brian Chira.
As early as 7 am, people began arriving at the mortuary, eager to catch a glimpse of Chira’s body before its preparation for viewing had even been completed.
Following the viewing at the KU mortuary, Brian Chira’s body will be transported to Githunguri for a funeral service and burial, marking the final farewell to a beloved figure in the TikTok community.
“The burial date will be March 26, and the funeral [will be held] in Githunguri where his grandmother has been staying,” Baba Talisha revealed in a past TikTok post.
He also shared that the grandmother requested for Chira to be buried in graduation attire.
“Shosho alisema Chira atazikwa na gown, graduation gown. Chira was very bright in school,” he disclosed.
Chira died in road accident
Police confirmed the death of the TikToker, stating that he succumbed to severe head injuries sustained in the hit-and-run incident.
Before the accident, reports suggest that the deceased had visited a bar in the Gacharae area where he was later ejected following a disturbance.
On his way home by motorcycle, he was struck by a speeding lorry while crossing the road near his destination. The lorry fled the scene after the collision.
Law enforcement arrived promptly and moved his body to the City Mortuary where grieving fans and family members gathered for a final viewing.
Support poured in from various quarters on social media, offering condolences to the bereaved family.
Fellow TikToker Nyako expressed her sorrow, reflecting on her significant role in the deceased’s life and urging followers to reflect on their own journeys and final moments.
He had recently taken a hiatus from social media, prompting concerns about his well-being.
In a previous statement, he reassured fans that he was simply taking time off to focus on self-improvement after a rough period.
“I just took a break from a year of chaos. I’m fine. Hang in there. It’s not every day that’s a trending day. I had to work on myself and I feel better now,” he had said in a post on Instagram.
