Senator Wamatinga predicts Kenyatta family will produce another president
Nyeri County Senator Wahome Wamatinga now says the Kenyatta family will produce another president whose name will be Ngina Kenyatta in the next 20 years.
Speaking to Kameme TV on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, Wamatinga attacked leaders who have been driving tribal agendas in Kenya.

He compared his prediction to political history in other countries.
“From 1994, the Hutu have never ruled Rwanda, and it will not rule forever,” he said.
Turning to Kenyan politics, he made his forecast clear: “In Kikuyu, let me tell you. In this land, the second president will be called Ngina Kenyatta in 20 years. Take that to the bank and keep the balance.”
Write it somewhere
Wamatinga acknowledged that his statement might not be comfortable for everyone to hear. “I know it is not comfortable to say so, but believe it and write it somewhere on paper and ask me then,” he said.
He claimed that the future leader would gain support for more than one reason.
“She will be voted in just because she is a Kikuyu, she will be voted in because she is a woman, and she is tribeless. Just wait,” Wamatinga stated.
Divisive politics
During the same interview, Wamatinga strongly criticised former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for what he described as using the youth to divide the Mt. Kenya region.
He said leaders should focus on uniting the community and building opportunities for the next generation instead of fueling political divisions.
He cautioned that politics based on division would harm the region’s ability to prepare for the future.
“Our energy should go to opening opportunities, not to planting seeds of hate,” he said.
The senator urged young people to be alert and question leaders who use them for short-term political gain.
He said the future of leadership in Kenya should be based on qualities that unite rather than divide.
Wamatinga’s remarks, mixing a bold prediction with a call for unity, were aimed at encouraging leaders and citizens to think beyond today’s political battles.
