Roots Party of Kenya presidential candidate George Wajackoyah has summoned his running mate in the 2022 general election Justina Wamae for disciplinary action over what he termed as misrepresentation of the party’s position.

In a notice dated Monday, August 22, and shared on his social media, Wajackoyah accused Wamae of making berating statements highlighting the one time she claimed he was supporting Azimio-la-Umoja candidate Raila Odinga and the fact that she has congratulated president-elect William Ruto.

“The party would like to address you that you have continuously and maliciously misrepresented the position of the party and that of the party leader having blocked him and other party officials.

“That you have in your utterances contradicted yourself on Citizen Digital and the KTN and recounted the contradiction hence your allegiance to the party manifesto is questionable,” read the statement in part.

The party claimed that despite Justina being a member of the party for the last two months, she never bothered to peruse the party’s constitution and the party communication guidelines.

Wajackoyah also said that he offered her accommodation and the official party vehicle during the campaign period.

“Due to your continuous misrepresentation of the Party’s stand, the Party has suffered public ridicule and disrepute… It is in our knowledge that you have continuously disassociated yourself with the Party and its ideologies.

Justina is expected to show up for the summoning on August 26, 2022.

“That in line with the above and our failure to adhere to the Roots Party Constitution and manifesto, the Party finds it in order for a disciplinary hearing on August 26 at the party’s head office.”

Further, he asked her to desist from speaking or purporting to speak on behalf of the Roots party.

“That we have instructions from the party leader to demand which we hereby do that you cease and desist from speaking, uttering or purporting to speak on behalf of the Root party of Kenya.

“That failure to stop the misrepresentation and irresponsible utterances we have instructions to institute legal action against you without further notice to you, at your peril as to cost and consequences,” the notice further read.
