Raila gifts Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards players Ksh1M

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has offered cash gifts to AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia players.

In a statement by Raila’s Party, ODM, the opposition leaders donated Ksh 500,000 to each team after a thrilling Mashemeji derby on Saturday, October 7, 2023.

“Party leader @RailaOdinga has this evening given a cash donation of Ksh500,000 each to @AFCLeopards and @GorMahia_FC after an entertaining match played at the Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani,” a statement posted by the ODM party official page read in parts.

The highly anticipated Derby at Moi International Stadium in Kasarani saw Gor cruise to an emphatic 2-0 win over AFC.

The two goals were scored by Omalla Benson at the 22nd and 56th minute.

With the win, Gor Mahia are tied on 12 points with Murang’a seal while Leopards have dropped into the relegation zone.

Odinga is an enthusiastic football fan with a bias for Gor and Arsenal.

He is also a long-serving patron of Gor Mahia and has been attending some of the team’s crucial matches.
