Whozu reveals marriage plans with Wema Sepetu

Tanzanian singer Whozu has revealed that marrying actress Wema Sepetu is part of his plans but said the decision will happen at the right time and according to God’s will.
Speaking about their future together during an interview on Thursday, July 16, 2026, Whozu, whose real name is Oscar John Lelo, said marriage is something he has considered, but he is not in a rush to walk down the aisle without proper preparation and agreement between the two of them.
“Kwenye swala la ndoa, lipo kwenye mipango yangu lakini na mtanguliza kwanza mwenyezi Mungu atakavyoamua yeye,” Whozu said.
The singer added that every stage of life happens at its appointed time, noting that the same way they welcomed their child was part of God’s plan.
“Kama nilivyo sema kila kitu kina kuja na wakati wake, kila kitu kinapangwa na mwenyezi Mungu, hivi hivi mwenyezi Mungu alivyopanga sasa hivi ndio wakati wa sisi kupata mtoto na tukapata mtoto,” he added.
Whozu also cautioned against rushing into marriage because of pressure from other people, saying couples should first consider their situation, agree together and make decisions at the right moment.
“Kila kitu kinafanyika kwa baraka za mwenyezi Mungu, si kwa sababu mtu fulani ameoa na wewe ukimbilie kuoa. Lazima mtu uangalie uko kwenye position gani na mkubaliane nyote na mfanye maamuzi kwa wakati mmoja,” he said.
The singer’s remarks come after he and Wema Sepetu welcomed their son, Prince Ollie, a milestone he has repeatedly celebrated while expressing gratitude to the actress for giving him the opportunity to become a father.
Whozu has also defended Wema against online criticism, asking netizens to stop insulting the mother of his child and instead appreciate her role in their son’s life.

Whozu’s and Wema Sepetu’s relationship grew from years of friendship, with the singer revealing that he started pursuing the actress in 2019 before they officially began dating in 2022.
The couple later went public with their romance, with Whozu expressing his desire to marry Wema and spend his life with her.
Despite facing challenges, including the loss of a pregnancy, they eventually welcomed their son, Prince Ollie, in 2026.
The couple’s journey, from friendship to parenthood, has remained a subject of public interest, with Whozu’s latest remarks suggesting that marriage remains part of their plans when the time is right.
