George Ruto praises Tr Cillah: a good teacher and even better person

President William Ruto’s son George Ruto has praised popular teacher and digital content creator Tr Cillah, describing her as “a good teacher and an even better person” following his visit to her school.
George made the remarks on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, after visiting Westlands Primary School on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, where he spent time with Cillah, teachers and pupils.
The visit came after weeks of playful exchanges between the two on social media that had attracted widespread attention.
In a message shared after the visit, Cillah thanked George for honouring his commitment to visit the school and for creating a memorable experience for the pupils.
“What a way to end the ‘SERIES’ … But God!! Thank you to everyone who was cheering. It was beautiful while it lasted,” Cillah wrote.
She also thanked George for “honouring us and flowing with it”, adding that the school community was happy with how the day turned out.
Most importantly, Cillah said the visit gave the children an opportunity to be inspired and entertained while reminding them that they mattered.
“Our children were inspired, entertained and reminded that they matter. Thank you for planting seeds of hope and making a difference,” she added.
George responded to her post with a message praising her work as an educator.
“A good teacher and an even better person! God bless the work of your hands, Mwalimu!” he said.
George Ruto’s school visit
George’s visit followed the viral social media banter between him and Cillah, which began after their playful exchanges online.
During the visit, George interacted with pupils and teachers before joining Cillah for an entertainment session. The pair later showed off their dance moves, prompting excited cheers from the pupils.
Cillah later shared a video showing her performing an Odi-inspired dance move while walking alongside George towards the school field.
Explaining the moment, she said the event was about creating a happy experience for the school community.
“Sisi kama Westlands tulikuwa happy. Children went home happy, and that is all that matters,” she wrote.
George also used the school visit to address the viral marriage jokes that had surrounded their online interactions.
“First of all, let me set the record straight. Mimi niko na bibi,” George said, before noting that the social media banter had been enjoyable while it lasted.
Despite the playful moments, the visit ultimately shifted attention towards Cillah’s work with children and her impact at the school.
The school principal also revealed during the visit that Cillah had personally raised funds for a pupil who needed surgery at Kenyatta National Hospital, further highlighting her commitment to the learners under her care.
For Cillah, George’s visit became more than just the conclusion of a viral social media “series”; it was an opportunity to create a memorable day for the children and celebrate the work she does as a teacher.
