Kris Jenner mourns death of her mother in emotional tribute

Reality TV star and businesswoman Kris Jenner has paid a heartfelt tribute to her mother, Mary Jo Campbell, popularly known as MJ, following her death.

In an emotional message shared on her Instagram page on Friday, July 17, 2026, Kris reflected on the special bond they shared, describing her mother as the foundation of their family and thanking her for the love, guidance and values she passed down through generations.

‘My mum was the heart of our family’

Kris began her tribute by revealing that the family had gathered to say their final goodbye to her mother, admitting that words could not fully express the pain she was feeling.

She said MJ’s influence extended far beyond their home, describing her as the person who held the family together and taught them the importance of love, kindness and togetherness.

“Today, we said goodbye to my beautiful Mommy MJ. There are no words that could ever capture what she has meant to me or the heartbreak of having to say goodbye. My mom was the heart of our family,” Kris wrote.

She went on to thank her mother for shaping the person she has become, saying every lesson she learnt began at home.

Lessons she will never forget

According to Kris, her mother taught her to love without conditions, value family above everything else and appreciate every moment spent with loved ones.

She said those lessons have remained with her throughout her life.

“She taught me everything that truly matters… to love your family fiercely, to be kind, to show up for the people you love, and to never take a single moment together for granted. She taught us that family is everything,” she said.

Kris also praised her mother’s strength and faith, saying she always faced life’s challenges with courage while bringing joy to those around her.

‘Your love will never leave us’

As she reflected on the memories they shared, Kris thanked her mother for every sacrifice she made and admitted she would miss their daily conversations, laughter and smile.

Despite the heartbreak, she said she finds comfort in knowing that her mother’s love will continue to live through the family she leaves behind.

“Our hearts are broken, but we find comfort knowing that love like yours never truly leaves us. Your love will live on in our family, in our traditions, in every moment we are together, and in every life you touch,” she wrote.

Kris added that she sees parts of her mother in her children and grandchildren, saying MJ’s legacy will continue through future generations.

‘Thank you for giving us everything’

She concluded her tribute by expressing gratitude for the life her mother gave her and the memories they created together.

Kris said everything she has achieved is rooted in the values her mother instilled in her from childhood.

“There is not a part of me that isn’t shaped by you. And if I have done anything right in this world, it’s because I spent my life trying to live in a way that would make you proud,” she said.

Ending the emotional message, Kris wrote: “My heart is broken into a million pieces… thank you for giving me the greatest childhood and oh what a beautiful blessed life. I love you forever Mommy. Thank you for giving us everything,” she added.
