Mumbi Maina declares she is in her villain era
Former manager to Otile Brown, Mumbi Maina, is owning her narrative after announcing she is in her villain era.
Her bold declaration came just days after she publicly revealed her decision to step away from managing the popular Kenyan singer—a move that sparked widespread reaction online.

Exit from Otile’s team
On July 29, 2025, Mumbi announced she was no longer working with Otile Brown, a statement that took many by surprise. Fans and industry insiders alike speculated about what may have led to the split. While Mumbi didn’t go into specifics, she hinted that the decision had been long overdue.
The following day, she posted a photo on Instagram with the caption, “In my villain era,” suggesting she’s ready to own her truth—even if it means being misunderstood.
In a candid post shared shortly after her resignation, Mumbi offered more context to her emotional state.
“First of all, thank you to everyone who has been checking in; I’m okay,” she wrote. “The decision I made was a long time coming. People in my close circle already know.”
She then addressed the backlash and unsolicited opinions from the public.
“I am not scared of anybody; the only person I’m scared of is GOD. I am quiet out of choice and not out of meekness. If I ever feel the need to speak up for myself, I will—and I’ll come correct with receipts and stand on it.”

Mumbi also defended her silence and reaffirmed her self-worth, stating, “Y’all are strangers. You can run your mouth however you want because you have not been in my shoes. It’s a free world; you’re allowed to have your opinion.
”She added that she is a “high-value woman” who has worked hard to become who she is. “I have values that I don’t compromise on, and nobody can tell me otherwise,” she wrote, asserting her confidence and commitment to her personal growth.
Online bullying
Closing, Mumbi addressed the harsh criticism from social media users and wider societal attitudes. “There’s no amount of bullying that can get to me. Especially not from internet idlers and a society that’s led by misogyny and obsessed with humbling women. It will not work.”
