January Transfers: List of Harambee Stars players on the move

The January 2026 FIFA transfer window has come with good tidings for Harambee Stars players, with several Kenyan stars making major career moves across the world.
With clubs across Europe keen on making reinforcements, several Kenyan players have caught the attention of European clubs and will now be making their mark at the new destinations
Among the highlights of the transfer wins are Mansur Okwaro’s switch to the French Ligue 2 side, Stade Reims, and Kenya U20’s Amos Wanjala, who switched sides in Spain after joining the Valencia Football Club reserves team from Torrellano on Sunday, December 25, 2026.
Wanjala, who led the Junior Stars in the 2025 U20 AFCON championship in Morocco, sealed a move to the La Liga outfit.

“Amos Emmanuel Wanjala is a central defender who joins the VCF Academy from Athletic Club Torrellano, where he gained experience competing in Spain’s Tercera Federación,” part of Valencia CF’s statement welcoming the Kenyan read.
Mansur Okwaro moves to France
Kenya and Harambee Stars’ Mansur Okwaro is heading to France. He is set to join Ligue 2 side Stade de Reims on loan from Nairobi United, where he will link up with Joseph Okumu. joins Nairobi United.
Manzur was one of Kenya’s standout players at CHAN last year in Nairobi, when Stars reached the quarterfinals.
He was a revelation in the Harambee Stars since the arrival of South African tactician Benni McCarthy, going on to earn his spot in the team’s starting eleven during both the World Cup qualifiers and the 2027 AFCON qualifier campaign.
It remains to be seen how his budding career develops with his debut appearance in the European league.
Irad Mshindi moves to Latvia
The Kenyan youngster joined the Latvian top-flight team after parting ways with Enköping, in Sweden’s third tier, where he made 11 appearances.
He agreed to a long-term deal that will keep him at the club for four years, marking a novel challenge for the Musingu’s Scorpions alumni.
“It feels unreal. One year ago, I was playing school football in Kenya—now I’m moving to a European top division. I’m extremely grateful to Enköping and everyone who believed in me. This means everything to me and my family,” Irad stated.

Locally, other players who switched clubs include Benson Omalla, who has been a midseason reinforcement for Nairobi United. Omalla, a former Gor Mahia striker, joined Naibois after ending his stint abroad with Cambodian side Visakha.
Ugandan left back Mustafa Kizza also completed a move to the KPL outfit, joining Omalla among the new entrants at the FKF PL newbies.
The former teammate of Victor Wanyama at Montreal Impact will aim to make his mark in the FKF top flight, aiming to shore up Naibois’ title charge and defense of the Shield Cup won in 2025.
Levis Opiyo joins Zesco United
Former Ingwe keeper Levis Opiyo has also joined Zambian champions Zesco United. Opiyo adds to the list of Kenyan contingents participating in the ongoing CAF games, as he also becomes the latest in the burgeoning list of Kenyans who have plied their trade for the Ndola-based outfit.
“ZESCO United Football Club is proud to unveil Emmanuel Mwanza, Luka Mutoshi, and Opiyo Levis Omondi as the newest members of the Ndola Giants family,” the club confirmation of Opiyo read.
