The English Premier League action returns with Matchday 3 fixtures kicking off this Friday, September 4, 2026.

The encounters will be highlighted with a London Derby pitting Arsenal at the Emirates against Chelsea as Man United and Manchester City face Everton and Coventry City, respectively.

Ipswich Town vs Liverpool

The Reds boast a stacked squad with new marquee signing Bradley Barcola adding explosive offensive firepower, meaning the fixture could see Andoni Iraola pick up his first league win after consecutive draws against Newcastle and Forest.

Playing at home, Gary O’Neil’s side will surely have a go at their opponents and could easily snatch a goal, just as they managed against Manchester United.

Overall, Liverpool remain heavy favourites to claim all three points as Iraola’s side look eager to pick up their maiden league win.

Score prediction: 2-2.

Manchester City vs Coventry City

Manchester City returns to the Etihad to face Frank Lampard’s Coventry City. Lampard acknowledged that their 1-0 defeat to Hull City at the Coventry Building Society Arena on August 29 was a game they were expected to win.

A return to his former club presents a steep challenge for a maiden league victory against a City side that made light work of Crystal Palace last weekend.

Enzo Maresca’s men are expected to win, albeit likely without the huge goal margin witnessed against the South Londoners, as Coventry will likely line up in a low block defensive system once more while on enemy territory.

Score prediction: 3-0

Everton vs Manchester United

This tricky away tie for Manchester United could produce goals at both ends, though it will likely prove a cagey, low-scoring affair. Everton’s tight defensive line faces a stern test against a United side coming straight off a five-goal display against Ipswich.

United hold a superior head-to-head record, boasting over 44 wins in their last 70 meetings since 1995, alongside a 1-0 victory in their most recent league clash in February 2026.

However, United face a return to UEFA Champions League action just five days later, which could force rotation and impact the visitor’s overall chance of a consecutive league victory.

Score prediction: 1-1

Arsenal vs Chelsea

Chelsea have shown a lack of defensive composure in their backline and central midfield, where the absence of Moises Caicedo remains sorely felt.

While the Blues boast a potent frontline, currently ranking as the league’s most prolific attack with seven goals scored, they have also conceded five in just two games, exposing clear defensive vulnerabilities.

The defending league champions are tipped to win.

Score prediction: 2-0
