Gor Mahia FC has assured ample security for the Football Kenya Federation Week 26 clash against Shabana FC scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2026.

The blockbuster clash pitting the leaders against the third-placed team at Nyayo National Stadium is set to kick off at 4:00 pm.

With the recent chaotic trend of clashes involving the hugely followed clubs, the home team has moved in to dispel the lingering fears with assurances of security measures in place to ensure a safe environment.

Security measures

“As Gor Mahia prepares to face Shabana tomorrow at Nyayo Stadium, I call upon all to come out in large numbers and fill the stands. Let us create an electrifying atmosphere worthy of our great teams,” the club explained.

“We want to assure all fans that necessary security measures have been put in place to guarantee safety before, during, and after the match. You are free to come and enjoy the game in a secure environment. Fans buying tickets are advised to use designated gates and take up designated places to avoid unnecessary alterations,” the record champions added.

Calls for decorum and sanity

Additionally, the club has advised the set of fans wishing to attend the game to exhibit good conduct, maintain harmony, and follow entry guidelines.

“I urge all fans to uphold peace and sportsmanship. Please disregard any negative messages, visuals or rumours intended to disrupt the harmony between our clubs. At Gor Mahia, we stand firmly for peace and the good image of Kenyan football,” the statement concluded. Charles Akonnor’s log leaders will be out to extend their chase for the league title against a Shabana team seeking to put an end to a spate of inconsistent results.

The Glamour Boys, who recently parted ways with coach Peter Okidi, head into the clash seeking to bounce back after recent losses against AFC Leopards and Kariobangi Sharks.

Head-to-head

They, however, face a tough ask with a head-to-head record against Gor Mahia putting them at a paltry 4 wins against Gor in 41 matches, a record that stretches back to 1985.

Gor has dominated the meeting between them with 25 victories and only 12 draws in the period.

On the flipside, Gor Mahia has few injury worries to contend with, with the absence of a key defender ranking high.
