Harambee Stars youngster Aldrine Kibet has been named in Celta Fortuna’s team to face Real Madrid’s famed academy, Castilla, in the Spanish third-tier league on Friday, April 3, 2026.

Confirming the news on Friday, April 3, 2026, Celta urged fans to show support for the Kenyan and his club.

Kenya, hii ni moment—tunaenda pamoja. Bring that support for our boy… he’s going to show levels today,” the club stated.

Kibet, who joined the Spanish club in July 2025 from Nastic Academy and registered with the Celta Juvenil (U19) squad, will be seeking to extend his fine scoring run in the season.

Among his most recent standout exploits was a sensational four-goal performance for the Spanish side Celta Vigo U19 against CD Roces.

The Rising Stars ace completed a 30th-minute hat trick, a feat that saw him take home the football as Celta Juniors ran riot over the minnows.

The result was a fitting return to winning ways, coming after he scored a brace on Wednesday night, March 11, 2026. The clash, however, ended in disappointment, with his team losing 3-2 and crashing out at the semifinal stage of the Copa del Rey.

His impact abroad has sparked calls for berths in the national team fold as preparations for the 2027 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) gather pace.

Coach on Kibet’s impact

Speaking of Kibet in a past presser, RC Celta Vigo B head coach Fredi Álvarez expressed confidence that Harambee Stars midfielder Aldrine Kibet was destined for greatness.

“I think he really stands out. In the first few days after he arrived, he caught a lot of attention because of his level and ability,” Álvarez said, as quoted by a local publication.

“I believe Kibet’s adaptation will be a bit simpler and easier than that of the others because he has already been in Spain, understands the language, and more or less knows how we work. That will help him a lot. We all expect a great deal from him.”

The clash at Madrid’s Castilla academy will kick off at 10:15 pm.
