“She has since received medical treatment, had her salary and arrears paid in full and is receiving assistance to deal with the assault as per the law. She is now safe,” Njogu stated.
“Thank you, @KenyaEmbAnkara and @Diaspora_KE, for your service to Kenyans. Thank you for alerting us to this,” Njogu added.
The Principal Secretary also urged Kenyans abroad to report any cases of abuse or unlawful treatment to the 24-hour response centre set up by the Diaspora Affairs office.
“If you or someone you know in the diaspora is in trouble, kindly reach us at our 24-hour response center,” the statement read.

Abuse incident
The incident, which sparked outrage online, involved a Kenyan house worker reportedly being beaten by her employer after refusing to work without pay.
The video circulated widely, prompting Kenyans online to call for immediate government intervention.
“This disturbing video of a Kenyan house girl in Turkey being beaten like a dog by her employer after they refused to pay her, has left me wondering why have @MusaliaMudavadi,@SingoeiAKorir,@roselinenjogu and @DrAlfredMutua neglected Kenyans working abroad?” one user, Alinur Mohammed, wrote on X.
The case has reignited discussions on the treatment of Kenyans abroad and the need for stronger support mechanisms for migrant workers.
