Njugush celebrates successful UK performance, praises diaspora fans

Kenyan comedian and content creator Njugush has praised Kenyans living in the United Kingdom after receiving a warm reception during his latest performance.
Njugush performed on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Ngemi Cia UK Homecoming Festival, an event that brought together Kenyans in the UK for a day of music, comedy and cultural activities.
The festival is a premier annual cultural event that celebrates the heritage, music, and community of Kenya, with a special focus on the Mount Kenya region, bringing together the Kenyan diaspora from across the United Kingdom.
The comedian shared his appreciation after the show, saying the audience braved the weather to turn up and enjoy the performance.
“UK, you put on a show! Braved the weather and we had a good time! Asante,” Njugush said.
Kenyan fans turn up for Njugush
The performance saw a lively crowd singing along and responding to the entertainment on stage.
The Ngemi Cia UK Homecoming Festival was held at Stoneleigh Park in Kenilworth and featured a mix of Kenyan music, comedy, cultural performances, food and entertainment. The event was designed to bring members of the Kenyan diaspora together while giving them a chance to reconnect with their culture.
Njugush was among the Kenyan entertainers featured at the event alongside performers including Samidoh, MC Jessy, Wanja Asali and several DJs and bands.
DJ Dibul, who was also part of the event, shared his appreciation for the response from the crowd.
“Moments like this are what keep me going. Thank you for the love,” he said.
The event gave the performers an opportunity to connect with Kenyans living away from home, with the audience enjoying familiar Kenyan sounds and comedy.
Njugush’s TTNT journey
The UK performance comes shortly after Njugush held the sixth edition of his popular Through Thick and Thin (TTNT) comedy show in Nairobi.
TTNT, which Njugush and his wife Celestine Ndinda, popularly known as Wakavinye, launched in 2019, has grown into a recognised comedy franchise, with performances held both in Kenya and abroad.
The sixth edition, TTNT 6, was held at the Sarit Centre in Nairobi in August 2026. The show attracted attention as Njugush performed without Wakavinye, following their separation.
The comedian also addressed his new reality during the show, joking about being single and using his personal experiences as part of his comedy. Despite the changes in his personal life, Njugush has continued to perform and engage audiences through his comedy.
Keeping Kenyan entertainment alive abroad
The Ngemi Cia UK festival also highlighted the growing role of the Kenyan diaspora in supporting local entertainment.
The event brought together Kenyan performers, DJs, cultural groups and food vendors, creating a space where people living in the UK could enjoy familiar aspects of home. Organisers described it as more than an entertainment event, with the festival also aimed at strengthening cultural ties among Kenyans abroad.
For Njugush, the reception in the UK added another moment to a busy year that has seen him continue taking his comedy to different audiences.
